Missouri Smallflows Organization is offering a two-day seminar that will cover in-depth the Maintenance of Onsite Wastewater Systems and will give class participants 12 contact toward CEUs needed to renew registration with Missouri (DHSS). This course is offered to current professionals to further their education on the maintenance aspects of wastewater treatment but can also be used as a training course for future professionals entering the onsite wastewater treatment and systems maintenance industry. Course Outline: Time: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day Workbook: Workbook and reference manual included (A $55 value) Lunch: Lunch is included in registration fee Contact Hours: This course counts for 12 contact hours with DHSS Cost: $295 per person for MSO members, $405 Non-Members Course Content: Implementing an O&M Service Contract, Introduction to Wastewater, O&M Service Provider Program Introduction. System Evaluation Forms, Safety, Business and Industry Ethics, Site Assessment, Pretreatment Components: Tanks, Pump Tanks, Pumps, and Controls, Aerobic Treatment Units, Constructed Wetlands, Chlorine Disinfection, Ultraviolet Light Disinfection Units, Lagoons, Media Filters, Drip Distribution, Gravity Distribution, Low-Pressure Drainfields (LPD)
Missouri Smallflows Organization is offering 2 seminars that take place on consecutive days covering Troubleshooting and Hydraulics for Onsite Professionals and give class participants 6 contact hours for each day (a total of 12 hours for both days) which count toward CEUs needed to renew your onsite registration with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS). Course Outline:
Time:
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day Course Content: Day 1: Troubleshooting: The purpose of this course is to teach people how to systematically identify problems with malfunctioning onsite wastewater treatment systems. The concept of flow charts is used and will help anyone involved in analyzing problems with onsite treatment systems including installers, regulators and private inspectors. A visit to an out door training facility may be included if time and weather allow.
Day 2: Hydraulics: An increasing number of onsite treatment systems today utilize pumps (LPP, drip dispersal, etc.) and associated components such as float switches, control panels, timers, alarms, etc. This course will teach how these components work together to make a safe and properly operating pressurized system. This information will be useful to anyone who designs, installs or inspects pressurized onsite systems.

2 hrs for Inspectors, Soils Evaluators and Perc Testers Course Content: Day 1: Drip Irrigation Design & Installation The purpose of this course is to give an overview of the history, benefits, terms, costs, regulations, components, installation, designing the system, operations and maintenance.
The purpose of this course is to go over all aspects of pumps and panels including horsepower, pump choice, reading the pump curve, time dose panels, volume dose panels, elapsed time meters and cycle counters. The course will also cover basic electric current, safety, voltages and how to read an electrical schematic and a multi-meter. |
