Online Education Opportunities

​Thanks to our partner NOWRA, we can now offer online classes to our membership.  There are a few classes approved and more will be coming.

Instructions for Online Education: 
  1. You will need to create a profile with the Online Academy Website.  This will be unique to you and allow you to track which courses your have purchased and completed.  You will need a valid email address to set up your profile.  
  2. Be sure to select that you are a Missouri Smallflows Organization member if you are a member.  If you are unsure of your membership status, call our office at 417-631-4027 to check.  If you are not a member, you will be paying the non-member price for the course.  
  3. Once you complete the course, you will print a certificate.  Submit this certificate to Department of Health and Senior Services, Onsite Wastewater Treatment Program for your CEUs.

Check out our CEU Breakdown Sheet that itemizes the CEUs for every license.  This will help you determine which classes to enroll in.

Note:  DHSS has the policy that the same course will not count for CEU credit when taken in two consecutive renewal periods (6 years).  ​

Missouri Math Review 101 - 1 Hour Course

This course examines Missouri standards for calculations on daily flow, tank volumes and soil treatment area (STA).  Step-by-step calculations are shown along with quizzes to practice math problems.  Basic Installers and brand new installers will benefit from taking this course.  This course was created by Tammy Trantham of Missouri Smallflows Organization.  

Course Learning Objectives
1. Reviewing and practicing calculations for daily flow rules in Missouri. 
2. Reviewing and practicing calculations for tank sizing rules in Missouri. 
3. Reviewing and practicing calculations for calculating volume of concrete septic tanks. 
4. Reviewing and practicing calculations for soil treatment area (STA) with given soil loading rates.

There will be four live webinars on the inspection forms in Missouri.  Attendance is required on the stated time and date.  A Zoom session will be conducted.  You will need an adequate internet connection and computer speakers to participate in this class.

Missouri Inspection Live Webinar 1 Recording: The Basic 4: Information, Summary, Setback, and an Understandable Diagram

Description of Course: The first section of our course will cover the forms that are needed to complete every report. The instructor will lead the students through proper gathering of information needed to successfully complete the forms. Discussion on the use of phone interview, assessors’ records, and online support. Additionally, drawing tools used on the excel form. The students will use guided practice to complete forms as the course progresses.

Missouri Inspection Live Webinar 4 Recording: The Most Overlooked Items when Completing the Inspection Forms
January 16, 2021 from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM via Zoom

Description of Course: The fourth and final section will use guided practice. The instructor will review with the student’s dye testing forms, demonstrate how to use the internet to find longitude/latitude and elevation. Also, referencing the instructor training manual, the use of the alternative dye test.  Next the importance of communication in the comment section with examples of getting to the point. Last item, the use of the inspection vs using the evaluation forms.
