Need to know how many CEUs each class is worth?
Check out our CEU Breakdown Sheet that itemizes the CEUs for every license. This will help you determine which classes to enroll in. Note: DHSS has the policy that the same course will not count for CEU credit when taken in two consecutive renewal periods (6 years).

NOWRA A to Z Course Module
From the brand-new service technician, to the seasoned local inspector, there is something for everyone in the NOWRA A to Z Overview course. Participants will gain an understanding of the varying contaminants in wastewater and how to determine wastewater loading for treatment. They will also learn the differences between a variety of onsite technologies; recognize important site considerations and distribution methods; and understand effective management techniques for decentralized systems.
NOWRA Installer Academy Modules
The longevity and performance of decentralized wastewater treatment systems depends on proper siting, design, installation, and operation and maintenance. An error in any phase of this process produces a weak link and may result in premature system malfunction. Now, the online NOWRA Installer Academy addresses the critical need for outreach education and training specifically designed for the professional installer.
The curriculum discusses the various treatment and distribution technologies currently available for onsite wastewater management and establishes a benchmark for conducting installation. Data collection on these activities is facilitated through the use of detailed installation checklists developed in conjunction with industry stakeholders. The checklists describe proper installation techniques and steps for commonly used technologies. In addition to the installation checklists, a startup checklist is included for many of the technologies. The activities on the startup checklists help to verify proper installation and clear the system for operation.

NOWRA Troubleshooting Module
No matter what our role is in the decentralized industry we are sometimes faced with systems experiencing problems or out of ordinary situations. This course walks through a typical treatment train starting with the flow coming from the structure and then walks through component troubleshooting including septic tanks, pumps and controls, soils, media filters, aerobic treatments units and finally soil treatment units.
This national training course with nine different instructors includes video recorded at the 2019 NOWRA mega-conference and contains various formats including video guided PowerPoint presentations, videos, technical documents and internet links to associated materials. The students set their own pace for training and can either take the 10-hour class in its entirety or break it into smaller sections based on how many hours they need or their interest. The hours assigned for each section are based on the time it took others who piloted the material to complete the course, and the theoretical time it should take to go through the materials. Even though everyone learns at a different pace, it should always take
participants the amount of credit hours offered and may take longer.
